For over a year now I have been having an electric shock sensation that starts in the middle of my head and goes down my back, arms, and legs. Nothing in particular triggers them, can be any movement, any time of the day - sometimes none at all- sometimes all day long with every movement. They are not painful but uncomfortable. Along with those is periods of irritability, sensitivity to noise, tremors, loss of balance, fatigue, tingling in extremities, sensitivity to touch, headaches.....tests done thus far - MRI / CTL and brain, CTs, lumbar tap, EEG, labs. EEG showed seizure tendencies in the right frontal lobe, labs B12 deficiency and Vit D. That’s it, I have been on a long list of seizure, anxiety, migraine medications and nothing stops the symptoms. My last Neurologist said since all of my tests looked so good I probably won't die, that didn't go so well with my husband. I am now working with a new Neuro and he is thinking maybe complex migraine but I cannot find anything that looks like my symptoms....So tired of this

Have you been tested for Lymes Disease?  Thats the first thing that sprang to mind when I read this post as I've read people explaining electric shock sensations on here before and then going on to be diagnosed with Lymes.  Lymes can also cause migraines and other weird symptoms I believe. Its caused by an insect bite.

I am no expert but it may be worth you doing some research and asking to be tested.  I know that Lymes is often overlooked in diagnosis.

There have been people on here that have Lymes in the past maybe one of them can offer you more information.

I hope you get some answers soon!

I have been checked for Lymes disease and so many others I had never even heard of... thanks for the suggestion though!

Im not a dr. Maybe fibromyalgia or myofascial pain. Pls check devin starlanyl website

Sounds like you have the start of what I have been battling for years. I found it very hard to explain other than it felt like grabbing an electric fence and getting "zapped" through my left temple. As the years have went on the migraine I have covers my entire head however now the right side of my body is affected as well. Most recently I have been told this is a "Complicated Migraine with Right Sided Hemiparesis". The trick I have now is finding "a migraine specialist with an established track record for the treatment of hemiplegic migraines". I'm in Indiana and having no luck. I wish you continued luck but thought this might give you some information to start your search.

I have suffered from debilitation electrical headaches since I was a child. Doctors have been baffled. I've tried many medications. NOTHING has helped.

When trying to sleep, another source of heat works. The pain is sometimes so intense, that sleep would be other wise impossible. I apply heating pad to the problem area. The heating pad must be one that has hand release, so that it turns off when you fall asleep. Again, you must avoid any possibility of a burn, but you do want strong heat.

Let me know if you have success. i have been using heat for years. I really wish there was some medication that works, but nothing helps, other than heat. Most recently my physician has prescribed Tegretol [an anti seizure medication] but it has been a disappointment. A nurse suggested 3 Aleve tablets, for their anti inflammatory effect, but these too failed. It's not always possible to have a light bulb handy, so if anyone can recommend a medication that works, LET ME KNOW! Try the heat; it's sort of a miracle to find something that is effective.
