i was dealing with the same problem a couple of weeks ago. i had daily migraines for about a week and a half and i would sometimes wake up with them too. definitely try and see a neurologist, i went to see one and i am going for an MRI. anyone who has migraines that often needs to get it checked out. it doesn't mean it's something serious, but it's just safer. also, a neurologist can help you find out what triggered them and help you find a treatment plan that works for you.
i get daily migraines whenever i eat a lot of crap food like fast food, or anything containing MSG (monosodium glutamate). usually to get out of the constant migraines i need to do a health detox (eating ONLY organic, fresh food and no processed, artificially flavoured, frozen foods) for about a month. that is usually what works for me. do you eat relatively healthy?
you need to find out what is triggering the migraines. it's true, waking up with them usually means that there is something wrong with your sleep patterns. make sure you get the same amount of sleep every night (8hrs is recommended) and go to bed and wake up at the same times everyday. also make sure you drink A LOT of water throughout the day as dehydration is a big trigger.
sometimes daily migraines just happen, and they can go on for weeks. and then they'll pass normally. are you stressed out or going through something difficult? did something big recently happen?
that could also be a trigger. don't get too worried, try to remain calm, and like i said, visit a neurologist, this is the best thing you can do for yourself right now.
one more thing, try not to take excedrin everyday, as it can cause rebound migraines. i know it hurts to go without pain medication, but if it is what is causing the migraines to continue, you need to stop taking it so often.
good luck and let us know what happens!
