Hello,
Feeling desperate as migraine has taken over my life. I have always had severe migraine however they were not terribly frequent (1-2X) per month. I had all the horrific symptoms, aura, nausea, numbness in my limbs. This could last for days but would always resolve. Several times I have had to do a course of steroids which always worked wonders.
Beginning of May I got a migraine that has not resolved. It is constantly painful to some degree. I can trace the line of my nerve from my forehead to the back of my skull that is tender and bruised feeling. Along with this I have severe head pressure, vertigo and nausea, these things come and go to varying degree but are always present.
I am on Zonegran, Foricet (can only take so many, makes me vomit and I can not ne stoned all day) Advil, Zofran, every supplement for migraine, Xanax, which honestly just calms my brain down so it does not rev up the head pain. Have tried 2 courses of Prednisone. It gets better on Pred but comes right back. I am waiting for Botox, I have to "qualify" which means I have to document chronic daily migraine.
In the mean time, I am suffering. My social life has halted and work is a struggle. I was training for a half marathon prior to this onset but can barely workout at all now, which depresses me greatly.
Please share advice/experience. With botox? Pain management? I truly am not a huge fan of Foricet. My neuro discussed a nerve block but it would exclude me from botox for awhile.
I need some feedback from others who have experienced the same thing and managed to go on with their lives.
Thank you,
Kristen
