headaches cause facial,tounge and mouth numbness?

Hello,

Just wondering if any one else here experiences the follow with headaches.

Facial numbness

tounge numbness

mouth numbness.

also cognitive difficulties, like concerntration problems and completley loosing your train of thought.

It seem like i'm having a stroke! but I know i'm not. It does come and go intermitently.

My Neurologist sent me an artlicle explaining all the various symptoms of headaches

icluding parthesisas and stroke like symptoms(but not a stroke).

Just thought i would see what actually headache suffers say.

Just trying to ease the anxiety.

I just had that happen with an ocular migraine. Fingers hand, arm and moth went numb.

Ill look into ocular migraines.

My Neurologist said all kinds of weird things can happen with headaches.
Maybe this is one of them.

I get that as well; mine if from FHM, or Familial Hemiplegic Migraine. There are two types of Hemiplegic Migraines: Familial, which is genetic, and Sporadic, which is not genetically based.
Both are debilitating, and have all the signs/symptoms of a stroke but without the permanant brain damage.
For me, I suffered my first one in 2011. I thought it was a stroke. Got a sudden horrific headache and lost all use of my right side. After a week in the hospital my Neurologist diagnosed FHM (they run on my mom's side of the family).
I've just had another one last month and am in the middle of one right now. For me, my symptoms include:
1. Aura - before onset of headache; usually zig zag lines and hazy vision (like I've been in a heavily chlorinated pool for a long time)
2. Photophobia/Sound Sensitivity - Bright light and bright sounds I am unable to tolerate.
3. Nausea/vomiting - right as headache starts
4. Headache - located in back of head, sometimes will radiate to one side - pain scale is 15/10 at onset
5. Loss of motor function on right side - this includes severe weakness in leg (drags behind me when I walk), arm (hangs limply, unable to squeeze or grip anything), and facial droop.
6. Confusion/Mental "cloudiness" - I can remember my name and things, but I have difficulty with numbers, which I am usually amazing with.
7.Aphasia - difficulty speaking. I know what I want to say in my head, but I have difficulty getting the words to come out.

I do get sporadic migraines with just auro and photosensitivity at times, maybe 3-4 times a year, but with my FHM, they knock me down for days. I am currently in day 5 of this attack and am being admitted to the hosptial today to break up the intractable migraine which seems to happen when I get the hemiplegic symptoms.

Anyway, that's a rundown of my type of migraine..might be of some interest to you to research and speak with your Neurologist about.

Thats pretty intense!

I do get some strange scarey symptoms as I mentioned but never as extream as that!

My symptoms usuall are short lived and come on spontaneously, they never have lasted for days at a time nor have i ever ben admitted to the hospital.

I do get feelings of a mild paralyisis but have never actually become paralyized.'

scarey stuff but at least nothing serious i suppose.

I hope the best for your situation as it seems much worse than mine in this regaurd.

I wish you a quick recovery and hope this can be completly treated so you dont have this anymore.
