Ethel, you cannot imagine how many other daily preventives there are! Sara has a list in here somewhere. I'll see if I can find it.
I've had migraines since I was in my 20's. (Just turned 52.) I was taking Fiorinal whenever I had a migraine, which was quite frequently. When I went to a new doctor about 15 years ago and asked for a prescription for the Fiorinal, he said that I was having migraines so often, I should be taking a preventive on a daily basis. It didn't make any sense at the time: Take something every day, or just take something whenever I had a migraine?
As it turned out, taking something every day really was a lot better than getting lots of migraines. But things change, body chemistry changes, and now I'm on a new preventive that I'm not having much success with. Actually, very little success. I'm having migraines almost daily. I think it's time for a change or an increase.
Ethel, do you have high blood pressure? Check out a new subject I'm going to start tonight.
