6 Month 24/7 Pressure Headache, Tinnitus and Lightheaded

Well where to start with all of this then… More than a month ago I was lying in bed with my I-Pad as millions do around the world when my eyes went funny (a dizzy spell) I couldn’t focus on anything and decided to just switch off TV and go to sleep. Next morning I felt strange like I was in a fog like state, didn’t seem like myself then later that day I started getting this head pressure and dizziness. I panicked and started to think I had some sort of brain illness like ‘tumor’ which has never left me to be honest. My fiancé put it down to a tension headache and by the next day still there all day constant, decided to go to GP that Monday who though sinusitis gave me Amoxicillin for a week and nasal steroid spray. That didn’t help at all so back I went to GP to say I was still dizzy and pressure headaches all the time, he sent me to hospital to get a CT scan with contrast and LP. Neuro at hospital done the exam and said I was fine and sent me on my way with no scan, next night I checked myself into A&E where they done bloods, ECG and CT with contrast. Everything came back normal. Didn’t receive the LP though. The day I got out hospital was the only day out of 33 that I didn’t feel this pressure (dizziness seems to have settled, still lightheaded though), the very next day it was back so back to GP who again said sinuses and inner ear gave me coamoxidol which I have just finished and still this head pressure. I am really struggling to get any quality of sleep (for about 3 weeks), getting to sleep is no trouble but staying asleep is a nightmare. I wake up about 4/5 times a night every night and only get 3-4 hours sleep. My eyes look terrible with red veins because I’m not rested and my heads constantly filled with pressure. The only relief is when lying down where the pressure eases or out in the cold air  (I live in Scotland ). I have tried steam with menthol crystals, exercise, plenty water, paracetomol and ibuprofen don’t make any difference either (I don’t take more than 2 pills every other day in fear of rebound headaches). I’m at a loss now, I can’t say this is a migraine as I have no sensitivity to light. I work at a computer all day and if I had a migraine people say I wouldn’t be able to.   I feel the pressure all over with slight throbbing on my left side only. No pain or pressure at back of head or neck at all it's just from my crown downwards and temples.   People say stress/anxiety well yeah…I’m stressed out my mind because this headache is ruining my life. I was 100% fine before this started. Now I think I need an MRI even though the chances my GP referring me will be slim after CT was normal. That fearful thought ‘tumor’ keeps churning around in my aching head all the bloody time!   Anyway thanks for reading and if you have any similar experiences or advise please share, I’m really struggling these days. Hi scottio, i have been through something very similar for the past 10 days... Really bizarre, cannot quite figure out what is gojng on, it feels like I have been put in a spinning machine of some sort. Laying down (but with my head resting over at least 2 pillows, cannot stand the pressure into my skull otherwise) is the only way to stabilise. Feel dizzy, cannot read things properly, feel nauseated, out of balance, very low blood pressure, sometimes with a high pitched tone into my ears. I am a very healthy person, symptoms have started out of nowhere, am quite scared right now. Sorry for not being able to give answers, but at least we are not alone on this one...

Hi there ive had my migraine for 3 weeks 4 days now but i had a viral throat infection 1st then i came down with backache and neck and shoulders then i had 2 panic attacks and then the migraine doctors marked it all down as stress and bad posture then i came down with a ear infection now i still have headache and back still and to top it all off yesterday it felt like ide been hit in the eyebrow as it felt tender and it feels lke my sides of my nose keeps tensing feels like pressure

No as it only started yesterday with my nose but my head is pound in u have achey back neck and shoulders i ain't got a runny nose

Had viral throat infection then backache and neck and shoulders then migraine then ear infection now nose it worries me big time

In your case Sammy I think it sounds like a build up of virus and infection. Have you taken any antibiotics for a period of time since?

I've been reading non stop for a month on headaches and that's came up a few times.

Did you go back to docs for another course of different antibiotics? The ones I was on Coamoxiclov seems to have gave me a constant buzzing in my left ear.

Should go see the doc again anyways and pester them till they actually do something for you. If they say CT scan ask for an MRI as I wished I did from the start. That can see more things and would be faster than going through everything like me (Although this depends where you live, I'm in Scotland and I get this on NHS but I know Americans need to go through insurance ect).

Ah well you will not need pay anything then.

A&E sent me away then the day I checked my self in and made sure they done the scan (They only do a CT in emergancy).

It will take some convincing to get my GP to refer me for MRI so maybe I will need go independant and just pay the 300 odd pounds to have it done.

I'm planning on asking my GP tomorrow to refer me to someone who knows about headaches instead of giving me antibiotics which do nothing at all.

Gotta go pick some more medicine up if it don't go after a week gotta book another appointment

No, not been on any medication at all so far, doctors just say parecetomol or ibrofrufin, I stopped taking OTC as they dont work at all.

COs i thought it was a brain tumour or bleed on the brain COs i had a bang to the head over 7months ago but if it was anything like that it would of happened before now
