In a situation where the pain is constant for that length of time, the inflammation needs to reduced. If it were me, I'd reduce my nitrogen intake in an attempt to lower both histidine intake and eventually the production of histamine (which causes vasoconstriction.) The Nitrogen content is high in animal protein, coffee, teas, and some beans. I wouldn't stop nitrogen consumption, but if you eat meat every meal with coffee, tea, or colas, that could be an issue. This is an attempt to lower inflammation and since nitrogen elimination reduces available water molecules, it's something to try to increase hydration and reduce inflammation. Many people drink caffeine laden drinks like coke or Dr Pepper and that contributes to their problems as it increases intraluminal GI yeast and glutamate levels. Go 3 days without eating animal protein and see what happens. If it helps, great. If it makes you feel worse, that tells you something that needs to be addressed and will help your condition down the road. If it does nothing, you aren't out anything but more trips to the grocery store as a plant based diet requires more trips to the store.
