Hi,

I posted awhile ago about my teenage daughter who has had a constant headache since xmas. She's currently under the care of a neurologist. His office called and left a message and now I have to wait until Monday to find out what it's about. Basically they said they have the results of the mri, and asked if she has an ear, nose, throat specialist. They also upped her pamelor to 5mg. Do you think this means they found something on the mri, or could it be that the mri is fine and now they are going to have an ENT rule out possible causes in that area? She's already been to an ophthamologist, so I'm wondering if they are just being thorough. Were any of you referred to an ENT while getting dxd? Her mri was just yesterday morning so they have the results much quicker than I was told they would. I'm trying not to worry but this is so frustrating that it's taking so long find out what's wrong. I would appreciate any thoughts you might have about this.

In my experience Dr's won't give test results over the phone good or bad.  Not that I think this will help you relax much.  My fingers will be crossed for you and many prayers said for your daughter, you and your family.

Hi Heatmiser,

I know it is very easy for me to say but, try not to worry. It maybe that they have seen on the x-ray that her sinuses a blocked and just want to check it out to rule out anything nasty.

My MRI showed up blocked sinus on one side whch turned out to be nothing. We forget that they have to be so precise when they check out things cos they have got to cover their back legally!!! Try not to worry, at least they are doing a thorough check! Keep in touch and let us know what happens. You and your daughter are in my prayers,

Thanks for the replies! The mri was normal but they did pick up inflammed sinuses and a retention cyst that could be blocking drainage. She recently had a cold so I don't know if this is just that or possibly the cause of her headaches from the start. They said it's possible that she would have no other symptoms, and it would explain why this headache never goes away. She's getting referred to an ENT about all this. I wonder why this wouldn't have shown up on the ct scan though. Thanks again, I'm feeling so relieved that this is all they have found.

Hi Heatmiser,

I am glad the MRI came out normal. The CT scans do not show great detail like the MRI as far as I know. Also some days sinuses are more blocked than others, obviously the MRI caught it at the right time to show the Docs what is going on.

Hope you get to see ENT very soon, keep us posted as to how you and your daughter get on.
