Hi Everyone
Verapamil has made my life worth while. I suffered for years with migrains. There every morning when I woke up. I had to set my alarm clock an hour and a half early, take a pill and then lay back down just to go to work. At the worst, I had to go to the hospital and get a shot. A doctor at Cleveland Clinic told me I should take a beta blocker. Later it was discovered that I had an irregular heartbeat. I was put on verapamil , now I am on 360 mg. One pill morning, and a half at night. I also go to bed the same time every night and just as important, get up the same time each day. No sleeping in, trying to catch on on sleep. Eat a good breakfast, when you get up, an egg, toast, juice, one cup coffee. Eat lunch, Not a sweet roll out of a machine, but a tuna sandwich, salad. Eat a good balanced dinner. Get at least a half hours exercise each day, walking is great. Try to stay off over the counter pain meds. they will cause rebound headaches. Drink at least 8 glasses of water a day, I drink an extra glass if I even think I feel a headache coming. The brain is mostly water, it does not like to be dehydrated. My headaches did not stop suddenly, it took time, but now it is a pleasure to wake up, my life is great. There is life after migrain.
