She has had a migraine for two weeks now. We have gone from the hospital to her neurologist and she has had 4 different shots. The neurologist gave her a steroid shot which is the only one that worked at all, but she still has these rebound migraines. Does anybody have any advice? I don't know what to do. It seems like they can't give us much help. The neurologist was saying we may have to do a spinal tap to relieve the pain. Currently she is taking a type of cortisone pill. Just looking for help. Hey pfunk,

I suffer too. I don't know what to tell you except I have said a prayer for you both.

I take different meds for mine......sometimes Bultalbitol, every 4 hours. Sometimes, Amitrypilene, sometimes Darvocette, and then sometimes I take a combination of 3 different meds together.....Muscle relaxer w/pain killer w/anti-inflamatory.... I bounce around because I have to deal with headaches on a daily basis. I also have had shots. They never helped enough. Good luck. Maybe a massage would help relax her if she is able to stand it. Iam so sorry, tell her that I totally understand. I had to quit working 5 days a week down to 3 day, and then I could not make even 3 days, so I just quit. It is soooo difficult.

Hi pfunk,

Welcome to Healing Well. Sorry your wife is having such a tough time just now. What meds does she take as preventative, and what meds does she normally have to abort attacks? Please excuse all the questions, just need to understand where her rebounds are coming from! Does she take any meds with codeine in?

I have suffered rebound headaches from meds with codeine in, and it seemed like one long headache that would not go away in the end. I hate it that we take the meds to kill the pain, and in turn the meds cause more problems!!!

I hope your wife can find some relief soon, please let us know how she gets on. Take care
