Can migraine be on same side?

Can a recurring migraine always be on the same side? Mine is always on the right, I can time it like clockwork somedays. My CT was normal, can anyone help me with this question?

Hello Amy have you had an allergy test done, or tests for sinus problems. I have migraines periodically and the last diagnosis was sinus problems, that favored one side over the other. Hopefully if you go back to the Dr you will ask them to check for sinus or allergyproblems this may help alleviate some of the symptoms that you are having, otr the frequency of the migraines. Meds, hormones and teeth problems and ear infections are other causes of so called migraines as well. Take care and have a good day. Phoelona

Hi Amy,

Migraine usually sticks to one side, but can change sides - mine do!!! It is also quite usual for and MRI or CT scan to come up clear, as it is not possible to see migraine in that way, these scans are usually done to rule out any other nasties. So a clear result is what is wanted really!

Thanks for the replies, I had read that recurring migraines on the same side was bad??? But I know my allergies cause ear tube dysfunction in my right ear and then referred headaches from those nerves and blood vessels...it's a lot of pressure in my head sometimes.:(

Hi Amy,

Try not to worry too much about this. If you have any worries with your migraines it would be best to see your Doctor, and, if possible get yourself referred to a Neurologist who is a Headache Specialist. A Headache Specialist has a better knowledge of headache, and therefore better able to treat and advise you. Let us know how you get on.
