ringging in ears

I am not sure if this goes here or not. I have migrains & take topamax 125. That seems to work well for me. Actually I just up the Topamax to 125 afew weeks ago cuz I was stressing out & was getting quite too many head pains for my likings a week. I was doing well untill a few days ago when all of a sudden the ringing in my ears just got really loud - I normanly have very fant ringing nothing major but this is just loud that it is enough to give me a head in itself. I don't know does anyone have this problem with migrains? Or is it from something else? I was talking to someone else who gets migrains & she said hers are from TMJ. I had no idea what TMJ was until I started talking to her & it sounds alot like what my jaw does so know I have an appointment with my dentist (1st time in a LONG time) to see if this may be why I have migrains. Would the ringing be a couse of the TMJ too?

I ended up going to acute care cuz the ringing was so bad & you are right. That is what the Dr said it is & there is nothing there he could do. He did want a hearing test schedule so now I have one scheduled for today. I know I have some hearing loss (if not I will be surprised) I worked in a factory for 12 yrs. Our way of drowning out the noise of the factory was to listin to our personal walkman.

It ends up that there are a few tones that I do not hear. But the Dr. that I saw said that I have TMJ & that the ringing is due the TMJ & he thinks that my migraines may also be conected to the TMJ. He says there is not much he can do for it though since I do not grind my teeth at night like most people do. I clunch my teeth during the day. The braces that are made are mainly for those who grind their teeth at night. He did say that I could try those sports teeth gaurds during the day not sure how well it would work. He also gave me a prescription for steriods for the next 6 days to help with my jaw which in turn should help with some of the ringing. It was kinda funny while I was there I have a problem with the nerves or muscles under both my eye twiching & they decided to start twiching while I was there & he saw that I he made a comment about it. He said that if it bothered me (dah) that we could do botox for it. I'm not sure if my insurance will cove it but then maybe it will if it is for a medical reason. Do you know of a good web site to get information about botox on? Its not something I would just want to go do without researching 1st.
