head and neck pressure/ throbbing arteries

sound like anxiety

anxiety makes you feel everything you could imagine, physical and emotional. so do no tlet it get the best of you.

i have the same feeling, i get weak in the legs and arms, and get random sharp pains in the head then the pain goes down my neck and over to my right shoulder. i also have a huge bump on the right side in the back of my head and no one but me feels it, and i think that is bs cuz its a big bump but yet people can't feel it

I have had these problems also for the last 6 to 8 months.They've been getting alot worse.Everything you guys stated i also have, for symtoms. I've been haveing alot of breathing problems with these symtoms,also. Also chest pains over my heart. I've been to my doctors probaly 30 to 40 times, and e.r. 20 or 30 times. with many tests done they don't know whats going on.If anyone knows anything else about this,or have any suggestions on what to do PLEASE let me know!

WOW! someone today suggested the samething! and the weird thing is that i pulled a huge deer tick out of my leg in the spring time.I think your right! I go again to the doctors tomarrow.I WILL Deffinitly post what ever the results are after i get them back.The way i'm feeling right now is SO bAD.I had to leave work again early today. I feel like i could die any minute.Can you die from this??

HI guys concerning this topic on head pressure and neck tightness, better have a look at a small but significant desease called temporal arteritist or ginat cell arteritist. Here is a brief describtion althoughthere is much more to be said on this subject .Temporal arteritis (TA), also known as giant cell arteritis (GCA), is a common form of systemic vasculopathy affecting patients older than 50 years. Although typically affecting the superficial temporal arteries, this inflammatory process has been shown to involve medium- and large-sized vessels, including the aorta, carotid, subclavian, vertebral, and iliac arteries. Therefore, "giant cell arteritis" may be more appropriate than "temporal arteritis" to identify this type of vasculitis, though both terms are used interchangeably.

I can totally relate to the "head pounding and pressure"!! I'm 29 now and 4 years ago I started to experience a pounding in my head, not really a head ache but more pressure and it would get worse if I bent over or moved too fast. I also experienced a "tight" feeling in my neck! I didn't really pay it any attention bc I suffer from horrible sinus problems so I just assumed it was "another sinus infection"! I was VERY healthy and done fitness training 4 times a week. 5'7 and 127 lbs! I started to question why I just felt like crap every single day! I worked out, ate right, didn't drink, smoke etc?! Well one morning I woke up and my face was a little swollen, along with my neck and my cheek bones were sore to the touch! I called and made an appt with my dr (months from the 1st time I had exp the pounding) and she assured me it was just another really bad sinus infection. Took my meds and nothing changed! I didn't wanna be one of those paranoid pts so I just let it go and tried to deal with it. 2 weeks later I was watching tv and my right eye went totally fuzzy...it started throbbing! I took some Tylenol and laid down the next morning went and seen my dr again. This time she gave me a shot of Rocephin (excuse spelling) which is a very strong antibiotic. That helped for a few days but on a Sunday morning I woke up and put my feet on the floor and instantly knew somethiNg was wrong! My legs were swollen 3 times there normal size and I could feel the pressure in my face and head, I was at such a loss as to what was going on I called my fitness trainer to see if I had been "over doing it" exercising?! He assured me that wasn't the case and I needed to seek medical attention ASAP! I went to the ER am they immediately admitted me and started to run test. I stayed in the hospital 2 weeks to find out I had LYME disease!! I'm not replying that everyone with pounding head or swollen anything has this but it is over looked VERY easy!! It's very serious if not treated and can cause long term damage! I feel 100% better than I ever have and I'm not blaming my dr one bit for not knowing bc who goes to the dr and says, "Hey I think I have LyME disease!" it's a simple test it only requires blood work and that's it!! Mine was treated with a 60 day antibiotic taken once daily. I was also given pain meds which I didnt find necessary to take BUT LYME disease can cause serious pain! I can't even tell you where I came in contact with the bug so don't think you have to have the "tick" on you bc you don't!! Like I said, I'm not saying my symptoms are the same for everyone but I can tell you they drove me crazy! I seriously thought I was losing my mind lol. Pounding head pressure, heart palpitations, edema, feeling so fatigued, weight loss, aches and pains and tightness. I never would've thought in a million years I would ever get LYME disease but I guess you can!

Actually I have some of the same things going on. First all the doctors including those at the so wonderful mayo clinics, said i have anxiety and neck spasm and needed therapy for my neck and brain. So the therapist said not to come back at the third visit until i had corrected my medical issues. I was 35 when this all startef 2 years ago. Pounding heart racing pulse, bloodpressure sky high,that feeling of electricity shooting through your body, and last but not least the whole digestive tract issues. I lost 32 pounds in 2 weeks,because ever time i ate about an hour later it would all start in. It also did the same thing when i would watch tv. 11 er visits later a family practitioner ask if i had ever had blood checked for tick diseses. I said yes for lymes 4 different times at dr visits. She said no, the other ones. Didn't know there was such a thing. So she sent it off and guess what i am know the proud patient with Q-fever, and Rockymountain spotted fever. They have removed my gall bladder in sept 2010- it stop functioning. I had a relapse last fall that put me down for 3 months. They put me back on antibiotics and gues what it starts improving, after we went through the whole anxiety crap spill again. Currently just this afternoon i had my kidneys operated on for the second time in two weeks. There is narrowing of the uretesto the bladder and hydro nephrosis in the kidneys pelvic region. The doctor says it is genetal. What ever, do you not think in 37 years i would have had some kind of problems with them before know???? I think it is part of the whole tick issue myself. this is for anxiety.i have same experience.i feel very pressure in my neck.i am suffering from GAD for about two and half years.GAD means Generalized Anxiety Disorder that happens for anxiety.Now I feel very pressure and pain in my neck and head.it feels as if there complete jam in my brain.i can not study,can not concentrate on anything,forget everything.I have gone to doctors of neurologist and psychiatric.i have eaten too many medicine according to their advise for two years. but no promotion occurs.my life is very painful for GAD.can anyone help me to say that what i should do now?

Im 14 years old and the past few days i have had terrible head pains. it feels like a throbbing in my head and my mom isn't sure what to do. I thought it would just go away but each day it gets worse and depending in the position I am in it either hurts more or less. When i walk the pressure and throbbing get worse. If i lie down it hurts less. Last night I had a high fever and my head was getting worse. I don't have pain anywhere else but my head but please if you think you have an idea of what might be causing me so much pain please do tell me.

If you are running a fever, I would suspect some type of infection. You should see your physician or go to the ER immediately.

Your spine and/or neck could be out of whack. I never thought I had any issues until the throbbing head pains and neck pains. Worse at night. Got some X-Rays and my spine is slightly curved to the right and I have military neck. These two issues are causing pressure, tension and pain in neck and head from basically hitting each there and all pressure from everything I do it put on right side and causing pain.
