Welcome. My best advice to you would be to schedule an appointment with a neurolgoist - preferrably one that is a headache specialist. My neurologist has told me that many doctors do not like to treat patients with migraines because they are very time-consuming and also very frustrating. Each migraine patient is different. All of us respond to every drug differently and if that isn't bad enough, most all of us have found meds that work but then they only seem to work for awhile. It takes a lot of persistence and patience on your part and on your doctor's part to find a solution to help you live with your migraines. There are many meds and other treatments available - you and your doctor just have to find a starting place and slowly find what works for you. The Lyme's Dx adds a whole other dimension - that is something that your neurologist will consider and hopefully, maybe even work in conjunction with whatever doctor is treating your Lyme's Dx.
Best wishes to you. You will find so much support and advice on here. Only someone that suffers with migraines can truly understand what you are going through. For years, when someone told me they had a migraine, I would think - so take an Advil and get back to what you were doing. HA! Last June, I had my very first migraine, and they have consumed my life since then. I would give a million dollars if I could "just take an Advil and get over it"! So, don't let others upset or frustrate you. It truly is very difficult to understand what you are going through for anyone else unless they, too, suffer with migraines.
