Hi,
I (65 years old, normal weight and nicely used) just joined this site - in my search for migraine and headache "answers".
I have had a "mild" form of migraine (w/aura) for almost three years. about four months ago (two weeks before Christmas), I started to have constant headache - a different type than with my "normal" migraine. It felt like a constant pressure against my head where my hair is rooted (and I still have all of my hair). It was like wearing a woollen headgear. I considered this as "Tension Headache" - resulting from using the computer too much while sitting wrong body-/back-/head-positions staring at the monitor.
Consulting my neurologist did not help. Finally, a month ago, I did seek a physiotherapist (still there), and now after close to ten sessions (mind you, it hurt extremely much), the pains eased a lot. So, maybe a visit to a physiotherapist will help some of you?
Then, to my migraine. I regard migraine as a different issue than my tension headache. Based on a book written by Dr. Alexander Mauskop, M.D. (”What doctor may not tell you about migraines”; can be bought on “Amazon.com”) where he explains a lot about headaches, causes and cures, I have now started to take “Migralief” (contains Magnesium, Ribofavin and Feverfew). Migralief is a diatary supplement, and the effect is to reduce the blood pressure in the brain - which often creates the pain. I need to take this twice a day for 2-3 months to have an effect.
In addition, I will exercise more often and continue scrutinizing my diet.
Finally, always discuss these matters with your doc.
Good luck!
