My 5 yr old sons pain in head

about a week ago my 5 yr old son was playing on the computer, when he burst into tears holding his head. He hadn't bumped it. He cried in sobs for about 2min holding his head above his right ear, then stopped and never said another word about it. I thought it was nothing and forgot about until it happened again today. He was playing with our dog when out of nowhere he started crying holding the same spot. Any ideas??

Dear Eve, welcome. There are several thoughts that I would have about this; my youngest son was around 5 when he started having migraines. There are types of migraines that are intense short stabs of pain too, but as a Mom, and in my mind, I would not try to diagnose a 5 year old, nor do I think it good idea to even suggest that it may, or may not, be something.

My advice to you would be to call his pediatrician and make an appointment; maybe it's nothing more than a nerve firing, but you need to have it checked by his Dr.
