Ketamine infusions again at Jefferson...anyone going to be in the area?

Next wednesday I'm going to be admitted Jefferson for my second round of ketamine IV treatments. I also decided to come off of the oxycontin that I've been taking for the last year or two.

For anyone who read my account of ketamine infusions or has experienced yourself you'll know that it makes the patient rather....social. So in addition to keeping you all posted on how things go if anyone is going to be around the Philadelphia area and wants to come visit me and have a face to face conversation it'd be great if you stopped in! Let me know if anyone is interested.

Good luck with your treatment, Ben! Please keep us posted - I'm interested in seeing how it goes.

I'll be at Jeff for an appt on Tuesday, but don't plan on hanging around much longer than that! wink I'm hoping that they can straighten out a prescription issue that they screwed up last week. I'm getting increasingly frustrated with my treatment there, but feel like I don't have any other options.

Have you tried to go off oxy before? I am just curious to see how things are going to go for you.  I am on fentanyl and norco right now and don't want to be on them too long. I will be having a discuss with my doc on Friday as well.

I hope you are doing well. Can't wait to catch up with you soon.

I'm just past 48 hours of real treatment now. Though it was my idea coming off of the oxycontin is very difficult--this being my second opoid withdrawal in more than six years of suffering. I am just trying to find some balance of help through medication and help through lifestyle changes. After having my life fall apart for the last 6+ years, every second being another second of the pain that really just never relents, I worry that I may be aproaching my breakng point. It's an odd feeling, feeing so weak after all of this pain but also strong from surviving each moment of this that I've had to endure. I think a lot of things are going to be changing for me--I desperately need them to. I'm just trying really hard to figure out what to do when, really, nothing is helping. I suspect I will find my way, which is what I'm trying to do now. My friends and family have been here for me and I am trying to take all of the help that I can get--tring to not feel like I have to go at this alone (because I've learned that I can't do that no matter how hard I try or how strong I try to be). I hope that I can find a way to live my life well again and I hope to come out of this with some ideas for all of us. I think I will find a path to peace though I don't know what it will look like. Anyway, in the early stages still here and miles to go. I will try to keep you all posted regarding how things go, how it works out in my struggle to find a way for each day to not be so hard. Thank you all for all of your support and I hope that we all find our ways toward health--healing well ;) I should get to bed and I'm sorry that I can't figure out how to put in line breaks with this crazy hospital webtv system. My thoughts are with all of you. ---Ben
