Numbness of the Head

Hello All,

 

This is my first time here and I joined to see if someone every experianced numbness on the right side of the head??? I woke up one morning and went to scracth my head and I have no feeling...I went to the docter and he told me that I was having a Tension headache and to take Excedrin Tension Headache Medicine. This is the 3rd day and my head is still numb..any advice????Should I go to the emergency's room ?? Please can anyone give me advice.

I definately think you should get another professional opinion.  Numbness in any part of your body is never good...especially when you don't know the cause...and if the numbness is in your head, then you should get that checked out.

Thanks for your reply...I did go to the emergency room the following day and i was told that it could of come from the way i was sleeping...not to mention they never even looked at my head nor did they do a MRI or CTscan....I dont understand why when i have insurnace......she wanted to give me a prescription of muscle relaxers and i asked why would you prescribe that to me when you cant even explain what the problem is...What are doctor's for???? they are suppose to help the sick and find out whats wrong...but they dont...anyways the doctor told me that this is something that will pass in a couple of days...but i wont take her word for it..I will go to another doctor and hopefully I will get some real answers.

Get it checked. I got numb after dentist appointment they thought there was some nerve damage when they pulled the tooth. 6 years later found out I had a brain tumor, lost some of my hearing, tear duct and get the oh so lovely migraines. Find a DR that will get you checked

I am so sorry Nicky!!! I would refuse the muscle relaxer and keeping searching until you find a doctor who is going to take this seriously and at the very least TRY to find out what is going on. Seriously, its possible that there is nothing they can "SEE" on an MRI/MRA/CT etc but they need to at least look!
