early retirement due to migraine

In all honesty I had lost my job due to my migraine/vertigo issues. I was on "paid" short term disability for 4 months....and then the insurance company did not have "sufficient" enough evidence for me to continue on "paid" short term disability. about 8 months later I finally convinced my doctor's to send me a note to return to work to see what would happen.....by then my position had been filled and I had been let go.

Migraines are HORRIBLY hard to work with insurance companies with.....even though I had piles of paperwork and notes from several docs,  including specialists to back them up.

That is very hard to deal with Mikhomi! I have been feeling the same way for years. (Welcome to Healingwell by the way!!!!)

Have you thought about disability? I dont think that illness can help as far as 'early disability' but if you have doctor's written statement that you can no longer fulfill your work duties due to your illness you have a chance at disability.

I am not currently on disability (but often wonder if that is where this is leading, and if so, would I "qualify")

I still deal with pain everyday of my life. Currently I am a SAHM (stay at home mom) of my prematre daughter, Natalie Grace. I am blessed enough to be able to stay home right now, but it won't always be the case.

Every 6 months I have RFL and I take daily medications to battle the pain.

Where has your quest for relief taken you? Do you see a specialist? Are you taking any preventatives?
