Hello and welcome to Healingwell! I apologize for the delay in responding to your message.
I have some experiences that may be able to help you out...
I have always had migraines, but when I was younger they were "normal" migraines. Where I would take an imitrex, nap and feel better later in the day or the next morning. However, I had an accident where my head hit the part of the car between the driver's side door and the front windshield * picture a whiplash type movement--forward to the left and back toward the right** (as well as two different occasions where I passed out and hit the floor-landing on the back of the head) After the accident etc my headaches changed and my pain was off the charts and did not respond to any medications or other treatments. My pain starts at the base of my head by my neck, it radiates up toward the top of my head and ends around my eye, this also includes the area by my ear and behind my eye. I have had waves of nausea, fatigue, blurred vision, sensitivity to light and sound, memory loss, and very tender scalp. I saw multiple doctors (GP's, neurologists), chiropractors, physical therapists etc...Anyway, long story short I ended up at a pain management office and they diagnosed me with occipital neuralgia (read more on it here: http://www.healthscout.com/ency/68/536/main.html) , which has somewhat responded to nerve blocks, radiofrequency ablation etc. I would suggest you try to research and read up to see what your daughter's symptoms are and what POSSIBLE diagnosis they might fit...and then push until the doctor's help. I know this is not easy! Please let us know how she is doing.
Also, any additional information is helpful. What types of medications has she tried? What kind of tests and treatment has she had? Let me know what else we can do to help. I hope this has helped some.
