I am new to the forum and not like most here who have been dealing with migraines for a while. I just started getting migraines after my stay in the hospital for bilateral pneumonia and mrsa, the mrsa was from being in the hospital so long. Shortly after leaving the hospital (it's been about a year and a half since the hospital stay) probably 3-4 months I got my first migraine it hurt so bad and I had an aura before it but that was all that I had, I think it's the worse one I've had so far. I've only gotten about 4 or 5 migraines in a year and a half time period but I am very concerned the last 2 migraines that I had I got the aura with one and then a blind spot with the one after that but I had numbness with both of them, not tingling but numbness I could still move but was numb, the one where I got the aura I went numb all on one side and I thought I had a stroke so I went to the ER and they just said migraine.............oh yea another thing that happens to me is I don't understand what I'm saying, I can read something know what it says but if I try to read it out loud my language sounds like I am speaking a foreign language this is with every migraine I've gotten. The 3rd migraine I got with the blind spot was just a few days ago and it was strange first I got the blind spot then right after that I started not being able to understand what was going on and talking funny, then I was fine for about 40 minutes, I was in the middle of the store and that's when the pain set it, it felt like someone had my head in a vice grip and was tightening until my head was about to pop, then the pain sorta went away it was still there but not as bad and then my hands and face got really cold and the tips of my fingers went numb and so did the whole entire inside of my mouth just inside my mouth no where else. What are these types of migraines called and is there anything I can do to prevent them, anything I can do besides take medication I really don't like taking medicine if I can find a way around it. Also I left out I have no triggers that I can find, I'm on a balanced diet, no caffine, and of course I have stress in my life but no more on the days with the migraines than any other normal day I am 23 years old and have 3 children.
