Hi everyone,
This is the first time I have asked for advice from other ppl with the same sort of problems I am female aged 42 and roughly 2 years ago I started with overwhelming tiredness slurred speech and weakness down one side of my body, I thought it was my diabetes, I was on holiday and my blood machine wasn't working due to the heat, I had another episode a few days later,I just went to sleep and woke up a hour or so later all fine,.... A few days after we came home i had another episode ,,I ,checked my bloods they read 5.6 so that ruled that out,I continued to have attacks a couple of times a week , as time passed the attacks became more frequent and lasted longer sometimes several in one day ,by xmas that year I was taken into hospital as TIAs where suspected,I had a whole host of tests. Which all came back clear ,lumbar puncture ,MRI scan,Cat scan, dolplar. EEG all clear , I have been on loads of different meds..nothing works , I am now having at least 2,3 attacks daily lasting anything from 30 mins to 3 hours ,some days I am unable to get out of bed ,I am not allowed to drive ,I don't work ,due to an acute back problem,I am so fed up with these attacks,,On a couple of occasions when we have gone out as a family an attack has come on people think I am a drunk ,it's awful ,my husband and children have to do so much for me,I have fallen down stairs dropped dishes , all sorts........ if an episode comes on that's me done for ,,
I am on Nortrytiline at the min I take 75 mg at night ,but I might as well not bother because it seems that I have new meds they help for a month or so and then bang I am back to square one....I am really hoping that someone out there recognises what's happening to me ,Help me please someone..........
Thanks for taking the time to read this and please if you can give me any new ideas to take to my next appointment with ,,that would be fab xxxxx
Ever hopeful xx
