Hi
I have a Migrane 3 or 4 times a year..always the same...wiggly lines, loss of half of everything I look at, then nausea then bad headache. As long as I take Migralief I can quickly stop the headache from developing.
Last Wednesday something different happened. No normal Migrane symptoms at all. Just a sudden severe stabbing sensation in the lower left of my head...real bad..just lasted a minute or so..and happened 2 or 3 times that day. Never considered it Migraine.
On Thursday, I got it again so booked an appointment to see a doctor...never got there. Later that morning, got the pain again but this time felt ill as well so tool myself to Casualty (ED in US). Feeling faint I was admitted.
Spent 2 nights/3 days in hospital during which time they did a CT scan and a Lumber Punch. CT scan clear. Lumber had some blood but they said it was at a very low level and could be explained by the process itself. With blood tests clear, discharged.
Next day, still got headaches (normal from now on, not stabbing) and fuzzy/pressure head but now also got pins and needles and ice cold feeling in left hand. Concerned, went back to doctor who sent me back to hospital...admitted for another night.
Discharged "likely severe Migraine, cant rule out had a very minor bleed on brain but unlikely".
Sitting at home now. 7 days after initial headache. Still got headache, fuzzy head, pressure in head, all seems no better, possibly slightly worse.
Could this really all be a new form of Migraine? Should I be worried? Feel like getting second opinion. What if it was a bleed?
Any thoughts out there?
Thanks
