Hi, Im 13 and I've been having them since I was 5. In the past few months they had got alot worse and ALOT more frequent. I also used to have a really bad tummy. We went to the doctors lots and he said I could have an intolerance to something in my diet. So after experimenting cutting out lots of stuff (milk, cheese, citrus fruits etc...) Then eventually I stopped eating wheat. For about 4 months or so I still ate cake and biscuits and stuff, but I completely cut out bread, pancakes, pizza and so on. Then I started eating a little more and a little more, until eventually now- 2 years on... I am completely back to normal. Now I cant really say that the migrains improved from cutting out wheat, but it certainly helped my tummy, which stopped me being so stressed. So i guess in theory it sort of helped(?) For the migrains.....
I started having cranial ostioplathy(spelling???) a few months back, and the migrains got worse at first but then eventually settled down. I mean I went through a stage of having up to 2 a week! Also about 6 weeks ago, I decided to become a peskitarian(fish and veggies only) not because of animal cruelty or anything, I just decided that I would try for a while without meat. Since then I havent had a single migrain, or even a feeling that i might get one. Also my tummy has settled so much more now meat is out of my diet. I know it may not be very convinient for your son to cut out meat completely(if he needs protein for sports) but maybe cutting down on it would help? I still have "chicken saturdays" where I eat chicken if i need to. Maybe give it a try for a few weeks, definitely helped me! Hope this benefits you! Sure took a long time to write ;)
