imitrex caus blindness need new migraine med?

Hi all
i have late stage lyme disease. having serious eye pain. i have suffered mild migraine/crippling migraine pain for 15 years. i am now told No More Imitrex. doc says it can he has 2 patients loosing site due to daily use of this med.
my head pain is suicidal at its worst. not taking anyting is not an option. anyone know of a good migraine med?? thanks

One other thing are you drinking lots of good flitted water about 2.2Lts for a women & 3Lts for a man. I have a lot of other things I could say that might help but as Im new to this sit I don't wont to up set any one by saying the wrong thing.

I have been suffering from Migraines for over 4 years now. I have tried Topomax, Zonegran, and Elavil (amitriptyline). I have found that the Elavil has been working better for me at a lower dosage than the other medications. On Topamax, I was up to 200 mg, Zonegran 150 mg, Elavil 50 mg.  I am not as tired and "out there" as I was on the Topamax and Zonegran. I sleep much better and wake more refreshed without headaches.  I do have the occasional headache which I treat with a Fioricet pill as I need it.
