nerve decompression surgery for migraines

My name is Felicia and I am 24 years old. I have been suffering from migraines for the past 5 years. The past 2-3 years they have got worse. I have had a migraine everyday from the time I wake up till the time I go to bed. I have been to dr after dr and tried med after med, nothing worked. In november of 2011 I was diagnosed with seizures(because I started losing concentioness) I was put on seizure meds and for a short time it helped my headaches so much. Then over the past couple month they are slowing starting to come back. Its to the point now Im having them everyday again. I have heard about this nerve decompression surgery and wondering if anybody has had the surgery done or know anything more about it. Im misserable to the point I pretty much sleep all the time cause its the only relief I can get. Please help with any info!!!!!!! Thanks

TMJ, let me know how what you find out about the surgery. I have checked into both surgeries, and am not sure which one would be best for me, considering I've not been through any consultations in person with the doctors. I've been told over the phone that I'd be a good candidate for the NDS, but that's done in Houston Tx by a Dr. Perry and Dr. Pamela Blake and I live in North East Tn which is quite a distance for me to travel. Something has to happen soon for me though, I have daily migraines and it pretty much drains you of living your life. I'm not on any heavy pain meds, just take fioricet, zanaflex, toradol maybe once or twice a week. I take zonegran as a preventative, and lamictal for a safety net from a seizure disorder that I have or should say had. I have been seizure free for 10 years as of June 11th! Yay!! I had brain surgery 10 years ago to remove scar tissue from the right side of my brain to help take care of the seizure and it worked! Now to get these migraines under control. Best of Luck! Mercyme
