At age 12 I had my first Migraine, I was sitting in Math class and edged out of the room along the teachers chalk board, went to sick bay and started chucking with a throbbing pain in my head. They turned out the lights & called my Mom.
I had 2 migraines during high school and prior to those episodes I suffered a concussion falling from a horse, 2 days of the spins in bed, then came good.
In the late 90's I was a courier driving in Prahran (Melb) and suddenly experienced an aura with blind spots in my vision.
I had to pull over, park and go to a hospital. I spent overnight in Emergency, unable to finish sentences, they sedated me and did an MRI scan. The next morning I was better.
In 2002, I had a car accident and my 2nd Concussion, the spins for 8 days out of 10 with a 2 day break of feeling okay in the middle. The huge thumping headaches I used to experience with my migraines disappeared and I now get unusual tiredness up to 2 days before a migraine, with increased urination and finally some slight disorientation or inability to concentrate, followed sometimes by the vision blind spots, and the usual sensitivity to light. Another addition was regular episodes of partial vertigo which were slightly debilitating and sometimes made me feel green at the gills. The neurologist I saw made the dizziness connection, up until then I thought I had Menierre's Disease.
In the last year, it has had the added annoyance of the above symptoms, but now, I also find myself losing things I have carefully put aside or just put down. I cannot see things that are right in front of me. 1 hour, 1 day later I will find it exactly where I usually put it, but when I was looking for it, it just couldn't be seen. Today, it's the TV remote. Has anyone else experienced the "MISSING OBJECT" aspect of visual disturbance in Migraine /Aura?
