Looking for anyone that can help me please.
I have had "complicated migraines" just after my 39th birthday. The pain and what I have gone through over the last 4 years have become increasingly more intense. After this past hospitalization I am told these are considered "Hemiplegic Migraines". I will have intermittent "electrical shocks" to the left temple with the migraine "crawling over the top of my head" to the right temple. My vision is blurred, I see little silver spears spiking through the air or have "dirt spots" I can't clear out of the way. My speech pattern will come to a point where I can't speak or my communication is non-comprehensive at all. I would try to say "take the dog outside" and the person would hear "breaking down the door". The right side of my face gives the appearance I am having stroke because my face "falls". I will then lose the ability to lift my right arm/leg and need assistance ambulating.
After multiple times of hearing "You are an odd case", "I haven't seen anything like you before", "There hasn't been any type of head trauma or abuse", "You sure know how to complicate things" ... I am NOT giving up. My husband and family have seen the torture this type of migraine has put me through and I refuse to quit. I just need help finding the right direction.
At my last visit to the hospital the physician who treated me said, "Please forgive me for staring. I have heard about this and I have read about this but have never seen it. First of all let me thank you for giving me this opportunity and I want to do what I can to get you in the right hands. However, communities don't talk so you will need to take this to the electronic information pages." WOW - Seriously ... This is NOT in my head and he has just verbalized it as a doctor.
What I need ... if you can please as we are willing to travel ...
"Migraine Specialist with an established track record for treatment of Hemiplegic Migraine".
Many thanks in advance.
