Hello Everyone!
I am a 39 year old woman who was diagnosed with Chronic Migraines at the age of 10. Recently I have had a NUMBER of increasingly disturbing new "issues". In September I got shingles - towards the end of that treatment I had a terrible migraine (somthing quite familiar to me). My migraine finally receeded (the only way I can explain them away anymore since the only thing that keeps me functioning is percocet until it "receeds" on it's own). Anyway that was Friday night. Saturday morning (right after Labor day) I woke up VERY dizzy & have suffered with it ever since! It's almost December. I have been to my reg MD who sent me to a PT thinking it was BPPV. She sent me back because it wasn't BPPV. I was then sent to a neuro and had yet another MRI (probably 12th or so in my lifetime). He also sent me to see an ENT - MRI & ENT Testing was ALL normal. After calling my reg MD back at my wits end he finally prescribed valium which has at least allowed me to function and eased the incessant dizzy feeling. Went back to the neuro today & he says there is nothing more he can do other than try a 3 day (infusion therapy - I guess kind of like a mini chemo for migraines). I guess I am at a complete loss here. I don't want to be on Valium forever but I honestly don't know what other courses of action to take. This cannot be normal & I swear I will lose it if one more person tells me it's because of my migraines! After suffering for so long with migraines and not being able to "fix" them am I supposed to sit back & accept this? I am not asking for medical advice here - only if anyone has any ideas about the next step? Has anyone out there experienced the same thing? I am not willing to accept that 24/7 dizziness is part of my migraine suffering when my migraines aren't 24/7.
Anybody out there dealing with this?
