I do not know maybey I am messed up more than I think here. I have been diagnosd with Chronic Migrines and Cervogenic HEadaches. Due to situions beyond my control I'm out of my medication.

Moving on....
I had ot go ot ER yesterday cause after 4 days with minimal releif, woudl go down to a level 6 then spike up to 9 I had HAD IT.

I had to wait over 3 hours to be treated. WHen they did treat me they gave me benedryl and reglan.............


THen I had to wait another hour or more to get Taradol.

They then infomred me they woudl not be able to knock it out. I have moved as well so when I coudlnt get my head under control and ahd to do ER they alwys gave me another treament that worked, knocked it out then i ahd releif for at least 1/2 a day.

I jsut do NOT GET IT. I had to go through the nosie, the lights, etc...to get minimal treatment and I am soo frustrated as to how human beign sare treated like livestock. I understand ER's are set up for everyting and people have life threatning situations....I am wondering why I bother to go where I am at........end rant....

Do us Chronic Migriners have any PAIN RIGHTS?

Unfortunately ers do not like treating migraines. Its basically a band aid and that narcotics will just give you a rebound. They feel you should be working w a neurologist or pain management dr. That said, I was in the er last week. They gave nme benadryl, compazine and toradol. Pain did go away for awhile but just came back.

When I lived in NY they gave me toradol and dilated and a nausea med if I was nauseas...........WTH is wrong with our system?

Hey man I hear ya, they think if you come into the ER with a massive migraine as I have done like you have done, they automatically think your a drug seeker.

They do what they can and kick you out the door telling you to go see a specialist.

I went and finally starting seeing a pain specialist and he gave me pain meds but that was just a cover up thing, then once I did get off the pain meds I was on for about a year I had really bad rebound headaches.

I finally found a specialist in migraine headaches and did Botox and man they have been awesome for me, Ive done 1 round of shots and feel so much better, no meds, and feeling better everyday.

TY for the input did the botox over a year ago.............no help :( But i know as u do yep we are all drug seekers............:( insane............. Working on pain magment..........have to wait till October..........so far..........Neurosuregon si seeing me sooner. TG.

The purpose of the ER is to stabilize people until they can follow up with their own doctors by appointment; also to provide emergency life-saving treatment to those who have had life-threatening incidents or trauma. Because too many people don't follow up routinely with their doctors or don't even have regular doctors, the wait for this minimal treatment is long. The ER is not intended to provide primary care or to take the place of having a regular doctor.
