Hello Everyone. I havent been here for a while but i'd thought i'd stop by, and reading on people sometimes having trouble at ERs, brought up something that happened to me last weekend when I had to go othe ER cause it was a weekend and I couldn't find my imitrex medicines for the life of me at home and I'm temporary out of a general doctor, or any type of doctor as a matter of fact. So I asked for a shot of imitrex first before tyring any hardcore pain meds or anything cause after the ER I was gonna have to go home to taking care of 2 small kids. Well they gave me a the imitrex shot in my stomach, benadryl on my hip, ativan under my tongue, and some antacid that was swallowed. Well it worked thank goodness, but as I was laying there in a room which was right across the doctor and nurses station (I was in fast track, which is a part of hte ER that takes care of less emergency type situations) and I over heard the nurses and doctors talking. They where making fun of people with migraines. the triage nurse said she has about
50 people waiting with migraines, and the other person yelled, "yay, more people trying to steal all our pain meds", and then later she said 'cheer up people, I have more people with migraines to keep you busy."....It made me upset that these people think i cant hear them, or they where trying to hint something to me knowing I was in the room right next to them. Makes me scared to ever go back there.
Well thanks for listening.
