At least you called. I am glad it was not serious
I have been dealing with daily migraine pain since 2006, I have 3 diagnoses for neuro pain.
It is almost impossible to get the strength to be your own advocate.
I Dont want you to waste time as I did.
Try hard to ask questions. The following is what I have learned. I am now 59. I hope this helps you in some way.
Had migraines most of my life from nerve damage
When a new procedure is suggested, take time to think about. A couple days. You can call and schedule it
During those couple of days, research that particular item on Mayo clinic site or John Hopkins, some times I will use Cleveland Clinic also
Write down any questions you have.
If the doc does not talk to us, it is our responsibility to ask the questions.
No one is standing behind us anymore to save us. This we fight on our own.
YOU have just become a Warrior! 🥰 And you are in good company with so many other people.
Keep a record of all meds
When you started, dose, when you stopped it and why.
What worked. What didnt
VERY helpful when you see a new doc
Sets a neurologist in a good place.
If your pain continues, never stop looking for a practice that has a Nuero and pain doc that works together. I found mine at RELIEVUS in NJ I think they are in PA too
Keep a record of symptoms, when it started and stopped
What doctors you saw, what years with address and phone numbers
When you switch doctors, get a copy of your chart
If you every have to go on disability, even temporary for this pain, you will need this information
It will be a lot easier if your are prepared.
Anyway, as life works you are prepared, it happen!
Hope you feel better soon
