Hi everyone, me again!
Has anyone heard of Hormone Balancing to treat Migraine disease?
In my own research so far, I've found that one type of Migraine I get is from hormone imbalances. But have not found information on treating hormone imbalances naturally (ie, through diet and suppliments) to treat migraine. So I decided to be my own guiniepig.
Early last year I began taking: Evening Primrose Oil, Borage oil, and Flaxseed oil, Calcium, Magnesium, a good multi vitamin & Ester C.
Luckily my doc gets amused at my idea's and helped me organize my trial. It worked pretty good. That's when I realized I was having other types of migraine as well. Lucky me! I became totally disappointed and instead of doing more research to see if I needed to add something or remove something from my repitoir I just stopped all together. Had a holiday from taking 3 meals worth of suppliments each day. :)
But now, I'm back on my band wagon and ready to commit myself to being as healthy as I can be. I just refuse to accept that I have to live like this forever. The pain, the auras and everything that goes with it. But please don't misunderstand. I'm not being stupid about anything. I take a lot of time to research everything I'm thinking of trying and then run it past my hubby and my doc.
It's worth it to note that I'm still taking my prescription medications: Zomig (rapimelt, nasal spray and regular tablets) as needed, Amitriptyline (sp?) daily, Celexa daily. Occasionaly I go in to my doc for a shot of demerol and gravol. I'm allergic to whatever they give me via IV in the ER.
I also use Tylenol Ultra, Excederin, and Advil (liquigels and cold and sinus).
I stopped taking anything with codiene. Gave me more headaches even with just one dose.
Anyway, I know I posted this before. But when the thread was removed I hadn't yet copied down the few replies that were there. (Oddly enough because I was in migraine agony)
So any of you who replied before, could you kindly repost your reply.
Thanks to you all,
Vicky
