GOOD ER visit!!

Sine coming off the Topamax, I had a migraine that I couldn't not stop so i went to the ER. The wait was short, the nurse turned the light off for me, the doc came in (i've seen him before) he appologizes for having to shine the light in my eyes. Ask what I normally get and says "well with the meds. your own I think I'll give you a little more than the normal dose." "Hope you feel better, asked about topamax and kidney stones, and then the nurse brought the shot. 15 minutes later I went home, soon after migraine gone....wow. What a relief and miracle to have a good ER visit.

Glad you had such a good visit to the ER, but do wish you hadn't had to. Have you seen the forms that tysmyboo put up? I did bump them up maybe I will do that again. If you follow the links on tysmyboos post you will get some forms to print off to get your Primary Care Doc or neuro to fill in stating exactly what they want you to have in the ER! This is to stop the ER Docs and Nurses from seeing you as someone who is after narcotic meds or such like. These forms could be very useful!!

Thanks, I had one with my last Neuro. and it helped a lot. My neuro. now, who is very good and i really like, will not prescribe narcotics or condone the use( although he knows/understand when i do get a shot) . He would probably fill the form out saying use steriods etc. I like him though, and he has helped me get past the rebound cycle, and the first doctor to help my h.a is some way. BUT, the forms do really help. THanks
