Hello everyone :)
Sassy, the three meds you mentioned all make me jittery and none really helped with the migraines, but thank you for the suggestions :) Caffiene is something I really have to avoid because of my insomnia and I don't want to have to deal with caffiene withdrawls or rebounds.
Tikitana, I did try Pamelor, which is nortriptyline I believe. It wasn't helpful for me. I have been on lyrica before, I took it for about 8 months, it didn't help my migraines, but I didn't have any side affects from it so my doctor didn't see any harm in continuing it. Verapamil and Topomax didn't touch my migraines either. Having a high medication tolerance makes treating headaches difficult, I am glad that you have been able to find something that helps you :)
Lightsabr, I know how you feel. Whenever I find something that helps slightly, given time, it stops working. I have been told that I'll just have to learn to live with my migraines as well. I used to be overweight, but using a lot of will power I was able to make myself exercise more, despite the increase in the severity of my headache, and was able to lose 40 pounds. I'm now at the weight that I should be, but I haven't seen a difference in the pain. I can't take things like Maxalt because I have a migraine of some level all day, everyday, so I can't ever catch it before it gets bad. Heat and strenuous exercise makes my headaches worse, they don't trigger them, but I tend to stay away from them anyway.
Thank you all for your posts, I wish you all the best of luck!
