Pregnant with MS?

I was just wondering how many of you got pregnant after you were diagnosed with MS and how your pregnancies went. I am 24, waiting in limbo to find out if I will be diagnosed or not. I have a 6 year old daughter and we really want to have another baby. Currently I am on 2 different prescriptions for nerve pain, both of which I would have to stop taking if I wanted to become pregnant. Has anyone stopped taking nerve pain medicine to become pregnant? How were your symptoms? I just wanted to hear from some people that have experience with this! Thank you so much in advance for your input!

I have talked extensively with my neuro about this. They say when you get pregnant is key. Do not get pregnant while having a flare. The theory is how you feel when you first get pregnant will be how the pregnancy will go. Also, they think that the hormones that your body releases while pregnant naturally keeps away relapses. The downside to this is when you give birth and your levels go down drastically you are more likely to relapse. So the number one thing I have been told is to be prepared. Come off your meds in advance and get on prenatals. I had my daughter and did not know I had MS. I had a major relapse after she was born.. I could not walk. Everyone thought I was being a baby but i was really sick. Now I know. We hope to start trying again in the near future and if I do give birth my neuro will come to the hospital to examine me to decide if I need steroids or anything else. I will also be hiring a nurse for the first 2 weeks to be on hand for me.... please message me if you need anymore questions answered on this topic as I have researched it like crazy!!! good luck!!
