When you go for this test do they give the results right away from the tech?

The results from the BAER (which tests hearing for anyone that doesn't know) is not usually reported to the patient.  A report is sent to the ordering physician and then he or she will let you know.  Good luck with that.

I went for the BAER and they also did the vision test that you look at the checker board. So now I will wait a week for the results. I noticed that I have difficulty hearing slightly out of left ear. HMMMM

blech!!!  The checker board test!!!  I knew I was doing badly on that one when the tech. kept telling me..........."you need to keep looking at the center square."  Duh....I know that !!!!  I failed that one badly.  I tried so hard too!!!!

I don't know if the BAER is the type of test I had. But, if you have anxiety, heads up they might put you in a box! Someone might have warned the claustrophobic me that for my hearing test they would put me in a little box of a room and shut the large bank vault style door and leave me all alone! Okay, so the tech was on the headset on the other end...but it was all I could do to not freak out and demand to be released. Some of you may recall my story of my first facial....so just a warning if you're claustrophobic.

On this one there was a smily face in the middle of the checkerboard and for some reason it was making me laugh because it seemed like the smile was changing to a frown. so weird lol.
