Hi~
I am pretty new to all of this MS stuff myself, just being diagnosed this year. BUT..that said, back in April of this year..I have severe eye pain on movement of my left eye..it started out with blurry vision ( I thought I needed new glasses). I went to an optomitrist who ordered a MRI because I also lost some vision when he found on a field vision test, that I had also lost some vision in that eye. Upon examination ( and shown on the MRI) he found my Optic nerve to be swollen and said I had ON (Optic Neuritis).
I was not having any vertigo but had been feeling extermly tired even before all this happened and was frequently falling due to problems with balance ( especially when I was tired) SO..........He sent me to a Neurologist who ( long story short) sent me to a MS Neurologist who then ordered more tests, and came up with my diagnosis in August of this year of MS.
What I am learning is that MS is a very individualized disease and presents itself in too many ways to discribe. It would be worth your time to get to the Doctor and get it checked out and get another opinion if your not satisfied with your Docs answer. Also contact your local MS Society and ask for literature about MS. They offered me recently to sign up for their 6 week instructions ( you get in the mail) called 'Knowledge is Power'. I recently got the first study and it is LOADED with info about MS and also came with a DVD. There was no charge to me at all for this.
Good luck. You will find lots of encouragement in here, we have great moderators and many great members who can better advise you than me. Your post just caught my eye because of the 'eye pain'...it just took me down memory lane. I pray you don't have MS, but as I said, we are all here to help you and support you...even if ya don't! Hugs~Katie ( sorry this is so long)
