This has happened before and I've never thought much of it, but I've noticed a couple times I've almost tripped because my left foot doesn't seem to want to pick up entirely when I'm walking. For instance, I was walking at a brisk pace at Wal-mart the other day (in a rush, and you know those floors are so "skiddy" and shiny) anyway, I almost tripped twice with the left foot so I slowed my walk and was telling myself in my head to "concentrate, slow down" like I had to think my foot into picking up in order not to fall and embarrass myself. It's should be a simple thing to walk across a room but I was a little "afraid" to walk fast after that. I can lift my foot fine, move it around. It seems fully-functional but that little tiny bit that it didn't want to lift caught me off-guard. When you've been walking all your life and all-of-a-sudden you feel like you have to concentrate on lifting you foot, that's SCARY!
I don't want to get ahead of myself (and, it could've been the floor, not my foot ) but could this be the beginnings of foot-drop? Anyone know how this develops? Is it gradual or dramatic in that it happens suddenly where you lose function of the muscles on top of your foot overnight? Would appreciate any input.
By the way, I do know it could be the way the floor felt as I was walking but I will see in time if this happens on any other type surface, i.e. sidewalk, home, etc.
Thanks, friends!
