hello mom,
i am still new to this site and have not got a diagnosis yet but i have the symptoms and lesions on my MRI's that are probable to MS. I am fighting with Neurologists about it. Anyways there is my backround real quick for you.
Anyways, i have alot of pain and spasms as well and there are alot of times it hurts so bad to walk and even move sometimes. I have four boys so i know what it is like to have that feeling of crying in front of your kids and it is the most horrible feeling in the world and they don't always understand.
I too am on Neurotin( gabapentin) i take up to 2700mg a day. it helps some pain and the tremors mostly, it doesn't help much for spasms either so i was put on tizanidine which helps. its a muscle relaxer, but not as strong as flexeril at least not for me.
I spent 3 months or so in a wheelchair because it hurt to walk and i didn't have the strength or balance to walk. I got alot of help from my boyfriend at the time and we got a wheelchair from a thrift store. i also got to where i could use a walker around the house. I still use a cart at stores just to lean on and help support me.
oh duh, sorry i got the walker from a thrift store as well. It was a little embarrassing but not as bad as being picked up off the floor.
so if you have it where you live check like a habitat for humanity store or goodwill.
Ask your doc about tizanidine, it does help.
my mind is jumping around today sorry.
