Numbness and Tingling

Hi everyone.... :)   i'm a new member and haven't been diagnosed with anything yet.  My symptoms are all very strange,  but seem normal here.. lol.  I have tingling and numbness it seems everywhere in my body, have had electrical shocks in my legs, pinpricks and severe stabbing pains all over my body. Extreme fatigue and weakness seem to follow soon after the stabbing pains go away. I have been having alot of neck pain and pain that runs from my neck into my head. Sometimes I can feel all of the muscles in my face, head and neck get really tight, and when it goes away I find it hard to hold my head up, and the headaches are excrutiating.  I also get numbness around my eyes which make them feel wierd and fuzzy.  I have had some flashing and blurriness but it doesn't last for long. These are just some of the symptoms i've had. I've had a ct scan and 2 mri's that came back normal.... next i'll be having a spinal tap... Does any of this sound familiar to anyone??? Is it true that mri's can be normal and still have MS.. ? I'm sooo confused... any thoughts would be appreciated.

Thanks for the reply.. My doctor referred me to the neurologist right away and he is the one who sent me for the mri's and is now asking for the spinal tap. When I fist saw him, my Dr. called him and asked if he would please take me sooner than the appointment he had made, and I got in really quickly. When he did the strenght and reflex tests that day I wasn't having any symptoms... it was the first time I had felt pretty good in 6 weeks... of course.. anyway he did some basic testing on me and said he had thought he would've seen more with me but he couldn't see anything, but he still sent me for the mri's. I went back to him this week and when I went in this time I had numbness in my legs and face and blurry vision in one eye. When he did the reflex test again he said he did notice this time that my reflexes were brisk, so at least now I think he believes me about my symptoms. He also did a nerve conduction test and that was normal too. He said he's trying to rule somethings out and now that my mri's show that my spine is fine structurally it's time to check it out chemically..I'm just wondering what other tests he should be doing before he does the spinal tap? Another question I have is about my stomache... I'm not really sure if this is related but the night I went to emergency with numbness from the waist down I was also experiencing a feeling like my bowels were straining and muscle spasms...something weird with my stomache anyway, then later on I've noticed that my stomache seems to be protruding and hard and I have a band that goes to both sides that is hard and sticks out and pushes against my ribs when I'm sitting. Sometimes I can feel it around my back as well. It sometimes causes pain or discomfort but not much else.. I kind of feel like my Dr's aren't being truethful with me because everything seems like a big secret... but I just want to know whats going on. I'm going to the hospital and requesting the result of the tests, although I'm sure I won't even know what I'm looking at, I just want to see them for myself, I can't believe that he didn't see anything on them. Thank you so much for your reply... maybe I'm not crazy after all. If you've had any experience with the stomache thing I would love to hear about it.

It's so frustrating isn't it.... I've been off work since september 28th because of this, but I'm starting to feel a bit better now. The only thing that is scarring me about going back to work is that at work I'll be on my feet for 8 hrs and I've had a couple of incidents where my left hip has given out on me... then I couldn't walk for about an hour after... then one night I went for groceries and my right leg gave out on me as I was walking around the store. I didn't fall or anything, but I'm concerned about how I'll feel after being on feet all day at work. But my life has to go on. I don't know what my Dr. will say about that but I have to see him on Monday again. And I've also had some good days before and thought to myself that I should be back at work and then all of the sudden I feel crappy again and know that I wouldn't be able to handle it... My job is very physical by the way.. I'm so unsure of what to do. I just thank God that I have a good job and can be off work if I need to, but the bills are starting to pile up of course and I can't stay off for ever. What are evoked potentials? I hope you will get some answers from that. This spinal tap thing really scares me too, and thats why I think there's something he's not telling me.. why is he wanting to that with normal Mri's ???
