Do I do spinal tap?

Hi everyone,

All my MRI scans came back clean, however i have Trigeminal Neuralgia and many if not all of the MS symptoms.
My Neuro wants to do the spinal tap to see if he can find MS there even though the MRI is clean.
I don't know what to do.........
Seems like a lot to go through (spinal tap) if the MRI (both of them) are clean.
THOUGHTS? PLEASE HELP!

I'm in the same boat......I want to know for certain, though! My brain MRIs are clean, so I'm scheduled for a spinal MRI and a spinal tap on the same day. Next Tuesday.

I'm also in the middle of being tested for Lyme disease (LD has many of the same symptoms as MS). The first blood test was positive (Lyme ELISA), so now I'm waiting for results of the Western Blot testing (more sensitive blood tests).

Have you been tested for Lyme?

Hi. I have been tested for Lyme a few times, but it's always neg.
I guess you are right about being CERTAIN. I think I am going to go ahead and do the spinal tap.
