Hi.. Im new here and have a couple of questions.. I recently had a mri, with and without contrast, of my brain. The dr said there was questionable white matter. I had an mri 8 years ago bcause of ms like symptoms and that came back fine and had no further testing.  I just had  a evoked potential and that came back "normal". I have many symptoms of ms. my question is.. does a "normal" evoked potential automatically rule out ms? Thank you.. confused

I was dx in 2005. I have had mri's of the brain, c-spine & t-spine every yr since, evoked potentials of all kinds (yes there are diff types), many neuro exams & 2 spinal taps (showing characteristics) all of which were normal. I was once told a spinal is the most definitive and the one that can yay or nay it, ultimately I believe bc there are many auto immune diseases that can mimic MS its more of lets rule out everything else. Kayla21... Thank you for your reply.. I am just so frustrated because I know how I feel, and the neurologist i saw does not want to do further testing. I am going to my GP next week and asking to be referred to a different neuro. Thanks again for your reply.

its very frustrating! For 5 yrs i was completely normal, i was even about to be undiagnosed (for lack of a better word) then xmas morning began the start of my 1st since being dx flare. Go figure! So much for a clean bill of health. I would def seek a 2nd opinion.
