I am really searching for answers and could use the help of anyone diagnosed with MS and familiar with the disease. I am a 29 year old female who has been having a variety of symptoms for 3 years. Started with numbness and tingling in my hands, then digestive problems (lack of enzymes to digest food, stomach polyps, gastritis). The symptoms would come and go, usually for a couple months at a time.
Within the last year, I have developed several neurological symptoms. Numbness down the right side of my body, followed by pain, muscle spasms and muscle weakness. Then it usually spreads to the other side of my body. The most recent symptoms are eye pain, extreme dryness in one eye, muscle twitching and numbness around that eye and side of the face, difficulties swallowing, numbness under my tongue with a heavy feeling that is difficult to describe. The mouth stuff has really been bothering me lately. I have nerve pain that moves around my body. Also I have times when my whole body feels extremely heavy and difficulties breathing. I am frequently dizzy, clumsy, and sometime feel like I am in a fog. My symptoms always progress as the day goes on and some days are better than others.
I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia after a normal MRI and a nerve conduction study that showed some abnormalities on the right side of my body. I was put on Lyrica and told that I could have another MRI in 6 months to see if I really have MS. I don't know if this is just Fibromyalgia or what is happening to me, but I cannot just sit around like this for another 6 months. I feel miserable and scared. Any ideas?
