I am lost today,new symptoms, help please.

Hello folks, I have not been to this MS forum before. I am lost today and needed to try to figure out some weird symptoms. I have a long lists of problems, both physical and mental, but have not had these specific symptoms. Every time I try to get out of my chair, or sit up to get off the bed I start to fall to my left. My cane just doesnt do the trick so changed to my walker. I try to stay out of wheelchair as much as I can at home. I need to keep up strength as much as possible. Anyway, my ears are ringing so loud and I feel like I cant hold my head up, its just too heavy, just like my arms and legs feel s like they each weigh a ton and my body wants to walk or fall to the left. Even sitting down I almost feel pulled to the left. I have neuropathy in both feet for 8 years. Along with chronic pain and fibromyalgia and spinal stenosis, osteoarthritis, anxiety and panic attacks, and have had depression for 25 plus years, and now a diabetic in last 3 months. What in the world is this? Ive not had a meds. change at all. I am left handed but I know that isnt it. I surely dont want to drive like this. I hate to ask for help but I must go to the doctor. I have experienced vertigo before but not like this. Any help from anyone will be appreciated. Thanks friends.....Cathy

I tried to delete this post. I figure after 9 days without any response maybe it didnt belong here. I know that everyone on here has pain and may not see any reason to respond. I get that. However, I think we are all here, in every forum topic, to share and to be asking for a word of encouragement. I hope everyone has a great weekend and can have some fun.......Cathy

I'm sorry you haven't gotten any responses, Cathy. Unfortunately there is no moderator on this forum. If there are members with MS who are knowledgeable and interested in being one, they are encouraged to contact the administrator. Email [email protected]. Thanks Lanie, you are a sweet person and a great moderator. I wish I were smart enough to help people, other than responding to the other people who come to ask questions and who become a family of support here. I depend on it more and more and it does help to feel that someone can identify with your pain....hugs....Cathy

I saw your post when you first wrote it. I have visual tracking problems due to MS. Since your post wasn't broken up in to small paragraphs, I didn't read it. I have to use a piece of paper and hold it up to the computer screen to successfully read long posts.

You need to see a neurologist. Preferably one who specializes in MS. The usual first test is a brain MRI. The neurologist will also thoroughly test your reflexes and responses for abnormal reactions. Other tests may include a lumbar puncture and evoked responses.

All other causes for your symptoms must be ruled out. Other diseases that can cause MS like symptoms are Lyme disease, Menieres, HIV/AIDS, Fibromyalgia, ADEMS, chronic migraines, spinal stenosis and there are others.

I hope you get answers soon. Hopefully it is something more easily treated than MS. MS is incurable, progressive and very expensive.

thanks friends. I am having one of the worst days Ive had in many moons. I will be seeing a Rhumy soon, along with an endocrinologist. I have had many tests, all the above mentioned, in the past 4 years. I do have spinal stenosis, neuropathy, Fibro, CFS, carpel tunnel with severe pain in elbows. I do have questionable lesions in white matter on right side of brain. I have little balance and am in wheelchair when I go anywhere I have to walk any distance. Lately I run a low grade fever, unusual for me. I have had 2 spinals. Today my joints hurt but inbetween on long bones, leg and arms, hurt worse. I wish I could just give up hunting, but need meds to function at all. Thanks to all of you for support. Have a great day........I appreciate you all so much.......Cathy

I just saw your post today. Could be a number of things, I agree with the one member that said you need to go to a neurologist that specializes in MS. Could also be normal pressure hydocephalis(sic). There is a number of tests(evoked potentals for one) that could help. I know at the clinic I used to go to for MS, they had neurologists that specialized in other neurological disorders(ALS, MG, MD PSP).

Hi SSnurse, thanks for reply. I am seriously thinking about ready to try to find another neuro doc. A specialist like you advised. I was reading over a brain scan i had in late 09 and I know I must have had a follow up in 2010 but I dont have material from that one. I think i had one last year but to tell the truth I cant say when. I had faith that all must be OK. In 09 there was a short paragraph about deep white matter with something measuring 3mm. I remember now that I had a quick followup MRA for closer study of white matter area. They werent concerned and Now I feel so stupid since I have all the symptoms. Im not selfdiagnosing but I need answers but I am so tired. I would like to just ignore everything and take a long nap. I need help and I know it. Now I just have to find the energy to start a new search. I will do it. I have to.
