Hey everyone.
I'm a relatively healthy 29yo female. I have subclinical hypothyroidism and haven't tolerated meds well, so I don't take anything right now. Here's what I've been experiencing:
about a year ago, I started to notice numbness in my pinky and along the lateral aspect of my ring finger and my hand - but only at night. I did a lot of research and discovered it may be ulnar nerve entrapment, which made sense because i sleep with my arm bent pretty intensely at the elbow. I also was having neck issues that didn't surprise me. This numbness at night has come and gone. I had a neuro appt in October but at the time it had settled so I cancelled the appt. I continue to experience this on occasion and is better when I keep my arm straight in bed.
I very rarely will notice an almost numbness in my thighs when I sit on the couch for a long time. This may be a circulation issue.
I had a retinal/ocular migraine in December which consisted of only an aura and no headache. I saw an eye doctor and my eye health seemed fine.
I say the wrong word occasionally. This seems to happen when I am stressed and usually only happens at home or with friends. Never in a professional setting or with clients (I'm a nurse). I also have random lightheadedness. Whcih I've often attributed to inner ear/Eustachian tube issues as my ears are often feeling crackly and plugged. Some dietary eliminations have allowed me to get some relief from this. I also experience an "out of it" kinda feeling sometimes which also has improved with eliminating dairy and grains from my diet.
I woke up to pins and needles in my right leg last night. This hasn't happened before.
I plan to see my doctor right away and hopefully she will order an MRI and re-refer me to a neuro. I have read about what the thyroid can do, especially if untreated so I know there's possibility that that is causing issues. Overall I'm just really scared.
I do have a history of some pretty gnarly musculoskeletal injuries and I know my back and core are weak, which could lead to weird things sometimes. I just don't know what to think. Not looking for answers, just need to talk about it and vent. Thanks for reading.
