Lots of nerve symptoms - MS?

Hi

I would be grateful for anyone's opinion and advice on my symptoms while I am waiting for my doctor's appt and tests.

about 6-7 weeks ago, I developed some sacroiliac joint pain which radiated pain into my coccyx. I have had physio and also chiro treatment and some anti-inflammatory meds, and the worst of this pain has resolved.

about 5 weeks ago, I started getting quite intense burning, tingling sensations across my upper body, breasts, shoulders and down both arms at night, with some slight loss of sensation into little fingers. These sensations definitely improve or go when up and moving around.

However, about 3 weeks ago, I also started feeling some 'shakiness' during the day. This sensation feels like a combination of feeling weak, while feeling hypersensitive (a bit like I've had way too much caffeine!). Associated with this is slight tingling of face and ear lobes (weird!). Interestingly, paracetamol seems to reduce or resolve these symptoms for a few hours. I haven't had these symptoms every day - but maybe about 5 days out of 7.

I have had no vision problems. I do have some numbness in my right big toe.

I had a normal cervical spine MRI about 6 months ago when I had a shoulder issue. And I had a lumbar spine MRI 5 weeks ago as part of the investigations into the SIJ pain - this was normal with no lesions.

Any opinions about whether this collection of symptoms could be MS?

I am seeing my doctor in 2 days to follow up.

The fact that your symptoms resolve when you move about, makes this seem unlikely to be MS. I have numbness from a spinal lesion. The sensation never goes away.

If you want to rule out MS, ask your doctor for a brain MRI. You certainly have some disturbing symptoms. I hope you get some answers and relief real soon.

Everyone that has M.S has different symptoms to some are alike. I have 10 plus lesions on the brain and one on the neck. I recently had like nerves shooting down one side of my spine. Just once went away. I was sitting with my daughter getting ready to leave and had the nerve sensation go down my spine then the loud rumbling I get when I blink both eyes started and the louder the rumbling the worse it is. Started with some tingling in right foot and right above that started into spasm. Spasms in calves. Stiffness in leg muscles and some felt like they were jiggling.
Most symptoms are on right side. Double vision that can get real bad is in my left eye. Recently when sleeping a few nights I woke up and my legs were very heavy and 2 nights I couldn't move from shoulders down, Some spasms in calfs and burning. Then went away. For 14 months about 6 years ago I was bed ridden for 14 months and didn't have neurologist. I was soooo fatique. Mornings I would wake up and my thighs would spasm as big as basketballs as it felt, then nerves hit. Had to make myself get up and move around for 3 hours a day. Headaches with vomiting. I had tremors that were whole body and then from elbows down balancing that started right after having a strange lil fall back.Tremors in right arm reaching out. Legs like jello sometimes. Didn't get hurt. I have in the begining after I had my last child where taking her a walk and was standing and couldn't feel the muscles in my legs but I could stand. Just thought maybe they hit a nerve or something with c section till it continue too long and had started with some tremors and double vision. That's when I found out it was M.S. My feet would drag a few mornings getting up. Years later not too long ago I got up and it felt my feet were concrete. Last hour and half and got it back. Two mornings woke up and couldn't move from shoulders down. Few months apart bout 30-40 minutes. Had episode only happen 4 times walking up stairs stopped and my brain wouldn't tell me to step. Walking like I was drunk. Not stepping right. Legs jumping all over. Pins and needle in legs and torso. Lotta times crying. It gets rough.

I also want to mention urgencys going to the bathroom, Memory problems and like last ThANKSGIVING aggravated I couldn't think of the main words I wanted to say. Sometimes being 3-5 miles from the opposite way I wanted to go. Sometimes I can throw my bills and anything paperwork to the floor. Frustrating.....

When I read down to your last post I thought to myself.... spinal stenosis. I'm recently going through testing for this. Actually they found it on some new MRI's. Might be something to look into. Good luck.

I have similar symptoms to you and I honestly don't know what to think anymore.
8 years ago, I began having some numbness in different parts of the body, had some vision disturbances, but never had weakness nor have I ever fallen or had trouble walking.

Over the years,I began to experience weird symptoms and turns out I had Lyme Disease!! I went through extensive treatment, MS was ruled out because my symptoms didn't match the condition.

But just last week, I began having burning sensation under skin when scratching, in my left side of body; back part of thigh, part of stomach, radiating to my left breast. On top of that, I have tingling in left side of face and leg but these sensations come and go. Appear for a few minutes and disappear for hours.

I know that I have a really bad neck; no curve and it's causing me dizziness and sometimes shaky hands but could all these other symptoms be related to my neck? I'll be seeing a chiropractor soon :/

But I've become so depressed over these past few days, because either my Lyme has returned or I in fact do have MS afterall sad

Hi Janecb,

Do you have any other neck problems other than no curvature? Did you have a MRI of your neck? Since you are unsure if your neck or something else is causing your symptoms I would suggest you see your Primary Care Physician before seeing a Chiropractor.

Lyme Disease can cause Neurological symptoms and is known to mimic MS. However, there could be other reasons for your symptoms and the reason I suggested you see your Primary Care Physician.

I was wondering what ended up happening with you ? I have had sooo many symptoms in a short amount of time like you and I don't know what is happening! I would be forever grateful if I coud hear from you!
