Thanks for the article link!  I can't remember, have you started treament or are you waiting for diagnosis? 

 All the MS specialists here believe in early treatment even if they feel it is "highly probable" MS. I don't like taking the avonex but I certainly hope it helps in the long run or I wouldn't bother!

Yes, this sort of data has been made available from all of the drugs now -- Avonex, Betaseron, Copaxone, Rebif. I personally feel there is no longer any excuse to not get on one of them as soon as possible. There's no guarantee that they will benefit everyone...but certainly many many folks will benefit. I'm convinced the Betaseron has slowed the course of my MS.

Since April 15th:
I haven't started treatment other than Provigil. (I had to overcome the exhaustion to deal with the symptoms) I was only DX'd RRMS, on June 21,06 by my OP/Neuro and I am now at the end of my ON, and the end of my excerbation. My OP/Neuro has recommeded that I see the Neurologist that she thinks highly of... for treatment and my continued road with MS. Since I think the world of my OP/Neuro, I am switching to the one she wants me to see, and won't do so until the end of this month. This will be Neurologist number 4. (I haven't had a great deal of luck with regular Neurologists)

I hope you are finally able to get on therapy! One thing I have read and heard is that men with MS can sometimes benefit from testosterone, be sure to ask the doc about that. (That would be in addition to the other drugs).

I pray you will have a swift and wonderful visit with this next doc! Please keep us updated!
