Blurred vison from heat exposure?

Hi Shashi,

I too get that way, if I stay at in the heat for more than 15 mintues my eyes feel like what you described, I too have to keep blinking my eyes jsut so that I can see properly, I'm glad you posted this topic because I wanted to and I kept forgetting, lets see what others have to say.

Hi Shashi,

Heat can definately aggravate MS symptoms or trigger some that you may not have otherwise. Usually, but not always, the effects subside when you get your body temperature back down to normal. Many people here use cooling devices, even a cold cloth around your neck might be beneficial to you when outside. I hope you are feeling better today!

Thanks everyone.  I'm feeling better today, though I've still had problems with my vision.  I keep feeling like there is a film over my eyes, and I have to keep blinking to focus properly.  Guess I need to call my doctor on Monday if it doesn't clear up by then.

I hope you are feeling better and your vision is back to normal. Until I read your thread I didn't know that heat played such a large factor in MS. Now I know why being in the sun makes me feel really dreadful. I can hardly get in the car quick enough to turn on the air-con if I am out shopping. I rush to get inside the air-conditioned shopping malls. I can't go outside and be in the sun as I instantly get hot. It is still Winter here although I live in a tropical climate the temp. is mild not hot. Sometimes I feel physically sick short of breath for no apparent reason then my face goes bright red, and I mean BRIGHT RED.
A male friend came to visit the other day and said "You've had a touch of the sun your face is red are you burnt?" I was so embarressed.
Considering my age this could be good old menopause setting in. Around 10 to 15 times a day I go through this routine.......
1) Feeling cold - rug up put on warm clothes and footware. Close windows and doors so not to feel the cold wind blowing in.
2) Feel really hot - off comes the footware, warm clothing and depending where I am anything else I can take off!
3) My vision is also affected but not as bad as yours. Very blurry for some time afterwards.
