Hello, I am so glad that I found this forum.  I was diagnosised with MS in 1999.  I started rebif 3 months ago and I have been having shock sensations for a year now.  I am having major burning pain between  and on my shoulder blades.  I sleep on a heating pad all night to help it feel better.  Has anyone else had this problem?  I am going to a massage therapist next week to see if she can help me because with 3 children at home I cannot be in pain or feel sick.  TY Suzanne

I started this new thread so others can see u'r here and u'll get more replies to u'r post. I'm so sorry u'r having so much pain now. Many here can relate to various sorts of ms pain and i'm sure they'll be along soon to give their input. The shock sensations and burning do seem fairly common with folks here. There are a few here on Rebif as well and hopefully u'll be able to gain some insight from them.

I'm so glad u found us and hope u'll find support and info here. This is a great site with winderful people. Also, we have live chats on Monday's at 6:00 pm (cst).     Welcome to the forum!  I'm sorry you are having some pain issues.  The shock sensations and burning are a type of neuropathic pain some people have.  I hope the massage therapist will be able to find some way to help you.  If it continues you might consider asking your doc if any meds might be necessary.  Some people have good results with elavil, neurontin or lyrica.

I also am a Suzanne. Glad to see you spell it "correctly" with a Z and not an S - GRIN. I have been diagnosed for just a couple of months. I suffered a horrible debilitating burning sensation on the left side of my forehead for several weeks whilst waiting on specialist appointments. It was with me constantly even waking me during the night and my husband would fetch an icepack to try and ease it for me but of course it didn't make any difference just made me feel loved and cared for. Once I saw my now Neurologist she immediately prescribed Endep (1 daily for 2 weeks and then 2 daily for six months). I was on the medication for approx 3 days before gaining any relief. I have had a couple of "simmers" since being on the treatment but nothing like I had before which was a full on burn. I have never been a pill popper ever but since being diagnosed and needing relief from things like "the burn" I realise that for quality of life I have to relent and give my mind and body the peace it deserves. Hope it eases for you soon.
